Product details

Ucallm magnetic sleeves are manufactured from pure polypropylene (PP) compliant with USP Class VI. They are compatible with a wide range of organic, acidic, and alkaline solutions, and are primarily used with deep-well plates and nucleic acid extraction instruments for efficient nucleic acid isolation.

Feature:

  • Manufactured from imported high-quality polypropylene with excellent chemical resistance.
  • Designed for use with deep-well plates and compatible with nucleic acid extraction instruments.
  • Protects magnetic rods from direct liquid contact during nucleic acid extraction, extending rod service life.
  • Vertical movement of the sleeve enables efficient sample mixing, lysis, binding, washing, and elution in magnetic bead-based reagents.
  • Coordinated motion of the magnetic rod and sleeve facilitates transfer of magnetic beads and bead-target complexes.
  • Separation of the rod and sleeve allows controlled release of beads and bead-target complexes.
  • Certified RNase-/DNase-free, non-pyrogenic.

Question:

What materials are your deep well plates made from, and what is their chemical compatibility?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

We offer polypropylene (PP). PP offers broader chemical resistance, suitable for most organic solvents and high-temperature applications (e.g., incubation).

Question:

Are the deep well plates sterile? What sterilization options are available?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

We offer non-sterile, radiation-sterilized (SAL 10⁻⁶), and filter-sterilized (with sealing films) options. Sterile products are clearly marked on the packaging.

Question:

Are these plates compatible with automated liquid handling workstations?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

Yes, the vast majority of our deep well plates comply with ANSI/SLAS dimensional standards and undergo rigorous QC for flatness and well spacing accuracy, ensuring compatibility with mainstream automation systems.

Question:

What is a V-bottom?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

V-bottoms are conically-shaped well bottoms. Sample recovery is optimized with this bottom shape. For this reason plates with V-bottom are especially used for precipitation assays and storage.

Question:

What is a U-bottom?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

A U-bottom is a round-shaped well bottom. This bottom has no edges and is recommended for stirring and washing of samples. This bottom form is used for agglutination and other assays requiring these tasks.

Question:

What is a C-bottom?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

A C-bottom is a flat bottom with curved edges. The C-bottom combines the advantages of U- and F-bottom. Because of the curved edges better sample mixing is obtained. The flat bottom in the middle of the wells at the same time allows the realization of precise optical measurements. The C-bottom is widely used for immunological assays, as sample stirring has a major impact on precise assay results.

Question:

How should I handle and store deep well plates to ensure sample integrity?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

Store in a dry place at room temperature, protected from light. For cell culture or sensitive samples, check seal integrity before use. For long-term liquid storage, ensure sealing films are intact and consider suitability for -80°C (validate plate and seal low-temperature tolerance).

Question:

Can your deep well plates be centrifuged directly?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

Yes. Our plates are designed for centrifugation in standard microplate centrifuges (with appropriate adapters). Do not exceed the maximum RCF specified in the product documentation.

Question:

How do I choose the correct sealing foil?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

We offer pierceable seals (for sampling), peelable seals (for temporary sealing), and heat seals (for long-term storage and shipping). Selection depends on your application: automated piercing, manual removal, or vapor-phase LN₂ storage.

Question:

What is the performance of deep well plates at low temperatures (-80°C or liquid nitrogen)?

Wenjng
13-Mar-2026

Answer:

Our polypropylene plates and compatible silicone mat seals are tested for long-term storage at -80°C. For vapor-phase liquid nitrogen storage, specifically designed heat seals and validated protocols must be used to prevent leakage or breakage.
